Motivations for engaging in
Social Activism and its effects
Human Centered Research with classmates Octavian Gherghe, Mariana Mejia, Annie Gao, Valeria Suing
Online activism is now more present than ever, as a result of the growing presence of social media apps, and greater access to the internet worldwide.
For this project, we decided to focus on how activism is received on social media platforms. The motivation for participating in social media activism (SMA) may seem straightforward, to spread important information to an audience. However, when you step back and recognize that this content is connected to each individual's construction of their digital persona, there are many more aspects that come into play.
